What are Miro Developer Benefits?

Our developer benefits are free resources and support you get for building apps on top of Miro, available to developers who have signed up for the Miro Developer Platform and are actively building an app — without additional enrollment.

Depending on how far along you are in your app journey, you’ll get access to different benefits.

Note that the benefits and terms are subject to change. We welcome any feedback and suggestions to evolve these benefits and make them more valuable to you. Share your thoughts with us using the contact form on the Developer Benefits overview page.

What are the eligibility requirements to earn these benefits?

Developer benefits are offered to the individual developer who submitted the app, not the entire development team. To qualify, you need a free Miro Developer Platform account and must be working on at least one app using the Miro Developer Platform.

Note that the free Miro Business Plan benefit is not available to individuals who already have Miro Enterprise, and some benefits may be granted at our discretion.

Benefit 1: Expert consultation with Miro’s Platform team

Book a call and get 1:1 expert technical and product advice from a member of Miro’s Platform team. You can bring any questions you might have about building a Miro app.

To unlock the expert consultation, you must build an app that’s been installed by 3 teams. Learn how to share your app with another team in this guide.

Once the app has been installed by at least 3 teams, you’ll see the benefit as ‘unlocked’ both on this page and in your Developer Hub homepage, with a link to book your consultation. Note that it can take up to 48 hours to see the changes displayed on the portal. The more detail you include in the form when you schedule the meeting, the more we can include the right people from our team to help you.

Benefit 2: Free Miro Business Plan with 5 seats

Get your app published on the Miro Marketplace and enjoy a complimentary Miro Business plan with 5 seats - separate from your current account.

To unlock the free Miro Business Plan account, you must submit and get your app approved for the Miro Marketplace. Learn how to submit your app in this guide and check the Marketplace listing guidelines.

Once your app is published, you’ll see the benefit as ‘unlocked’ both on this page and in your Developer Hub homepage. Our team will reach out to you to confirm the details for the account creation.

Note that if you are working on your app as part of a development team, the benefit will only appear as ‘unlocked’ for the team member who submitted the app to the Marketplace. We will use the email provided during the app submission process for all communications about this benefit.

About the free Miro Business Plan account

The Miro Business Plan lets you scale collaboration beyond your team with advanced features and security. When you unlock this benefit, you get a new Miro Business Plan account where you’re the administrator (rather than an upgrade to an existing account), with 5 seats.

You can’t buy additional seats, nor can you migrate an existing plan into this one. The subscription will be active for at least 1 year, subject to our discretion.

Benefit 3: Additional promotion for your app

When you reach 200 unique users, we’ll highlight your app across our promotion channels.

To unlock the additional app promotion, you must build an app that’s reached 200 unique users on the Miro Marketplace. You can keep track of your progress in your App metrics dashboard in the Developer Hub.

Once you’ve reached 200 unique users, the benefit will appear as ‘unlocked’ both on this page and in your Developer Hub homepage. Our team will reach out to you when the promotion is launched.

More about app promotion

When your app has 200 unique users, we’ll use the information you provided when you submitted your app to create new promotional content in our marketing channels, so you can reach more Miro users. If anything is missing, we’ll reach out, and we request that you inform us if any details have changed that affect the messaging.

Note that different channels may be used depending on the app, subject to our own discretion. Of course, we’ll also let you know once this promotion is launched.

We also welcome your co-marketing ideas for further reach.
